These liners are definitely not my favorite. You can sometimes get them in a 2 pack with a free sharpener. There's a reason they are such a good bargain... they stink. They are just simply too hard. I feel like I'm doing damage to my eye, tugging and trying to spread this on for any kind of a line. The line that does finally go on, is very uneven and splotchy.
A friend had suggested heating the end of it for application, which did work a little better, but who wants to have to heat up their liner every time they want to use it? That's just rediculous when there are too many other good brands out there that go on smoothly, with no trouble.
Pros:Cheap. Cons:Too hard in texture, doesn't go on well at all.
Covergirl's outlast smoothwear mascaras are retractable pencils, which I much prefer over the ones you have to sharpen. "Smoke" is what is commonly referred to as Charcoal. It's a deep gray color that I like to use if I don't want all the drama of black liner. I was pleasantly surprised that my eyes still popped when I used this charcoal color. The only drawback of this particular liner was that I didn' think it had tons of staying power and I had to reapply before the day was over. Other than that though, the color was lovely and is a great alternative to black. It went on quite smoothly without tugging at my eyelid and you can make a cool smudgy look with this too if you just use a q-tip. If you're interested in trying charcoal grey liner, this is an inexpensive and fairly good quality option.
Pros:color is great, easy application, self-sharpening Cons:doesn't really "outlast" anything
While this liner doesn't really have much staying power, the color and texture are absolutely fabulous. I've been using this with my MAC Aquadisiac and Shimmermoss shadoes due to the temporary unavailability of Fluidlines in my area.
Since I am liner-challenged, the soft texture of this pencil make it easy to apply. The gorgeous color is definitely a plus. I'm going to start using a little UD primer potion under my lower lashes so maybe it'll stay longer. At this point, I've just been carrying it with me for touch-ups. And of course, being CG, it was very cheap.
Pros:Eye-catching color, shimmery, great soft-pencil texture Cons:not much staying power
This doesn't look silver to me which I thought it would be by the name moondust and it says it is a "creamy silver liner" in the magazine I read about it. But, it looks more white on me than anything else. Although I like the look of white eyeliner and I think it's pretty. Glides on pretty well. Easy to apply. Kind of pricey though, for me anyway.
Even though this is a low-end eyeliner and there are probably better ones out there, this is MY holy grail. Not only do I NEVER have to actually sharpen it (just twist it and poof! there's a new tip), but it pretty much stays put all day. It works really well when doing a smoky eye effect, and you smudge it. :)
